Frequently Asked Questions

🎓 Education Questions

What is a COE and why do I need one?+
A Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) is a certificate issued by your Australian educational institution confirming your enrolment in a registered course. You must provide a COE when applying for your Student Visa (Subclass 500).
Can I work while studying in Australia?+
Yes. Student visa holders can work up to 48 hours per fortnight while their course is in session. During official course breaks, there is no limit on work hours. Some postgraduate research students can work unlimited hours.
What is Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)?+
OSHC is compulsory health insurance that international students must hold for the duration of their student visa. We help our clients arrange OSHC with approved providers like Medibank, Bupa, or CBHS.
Do I need IELTS to study in Australia?+
Most universities and colleges require English language proof — such as IELTS, PTE, TOEFL or CAMBRIDGE. Requirements vary by institution and course. We advise you on exactly what score you need for your specific application.
What is a Professional Year Program?+
The Professional Year Program (PYP) is a 12-month program for graduates in IT, Accounting, and Engineering. Completing it adds 5 extra points to your EOI points score for skilled migration — making it a powerful tool for PR.

🛂 Migration Questions

What is a MARA agent and why is it important?+
A MARA (Migration Agents Registration Authority) agent is legally authorised to provide immigration assistance in Australia. Using a registered agent protects you from migration fraud. OZAIN PTY LTD has MARA-registered agents on board to assist you.
What is the difference between Subclass 189, 190, and 491?+
Subclass 189 is independent skilled migration (no sponsorship needed). Subclass 190 requires state/territory nomination (adds 5 points). Subclass 491 is a provisional regional visa (adds 15 points, requires 3 years regional residence before PR).
How does the Expression of Interest (EOI) system work?+
For skilled migration, you submit an EOI via SkillSelect — Australia's online system. Your points score determines when/if you receive an invitation to apply. Higher points = more likely to be invited. Our MARA agents help maximise your points score.
Can I apply for a visa while in Australia?+
Yes, many visas (such as the Student Visa 500, Partner Visa 820, and Graduate Visa 485) can be lodged onshore while you are in Australia. Offshore visas require you to be outside Australia when lodged. We advise on which option applies to you.
What is a skills assessment and do I need one?+
A skills assessment is an evaluation by an Australian assessing authority to verify that your overseas qualifications and experience are comparable to Australian standards. Most skilled migration visas require a successful skills assessment before an EOI can be submitted.
